Little Rex York
Sheltie

Carmel York
Sheltie

These are the "Cooksey" girls. There is one more bassett hound at home that is in this family of rescued
dogs. That's a lot of long ears!

Lily York

Fred York

Molly Jones belongs to a client of mine that is involved in Sheltie Rescue. She is
the only other Sheltie I groom that has blue eyes other than my own dog Dreamer. I thought they'd make a cute couple! Ya think?

This is the York family shelties
The Yorks are very involved in Sheltie Rescue of Greater Lafayette and they often foster rescues until
they can find a forever home. Of course once you foster a pet, it's kind of hard not to fall in love and adopt them yourself!
These are their adopted kids.

Kyle Barton
Kyle was a Hurricane Katrina dog rescue that was one of twelve dogs that were brought to Sheltie Rescue
of Greater Lafayette to rehome. Kyle was another foster that wormed his way into the hearts of his foster parents Bob
and Peg Barton who run Sheltie Rescue. He's not even a sheltie but he's a keeper!

Spike York

Buster York

Jackie was a foster of the York family that was found by Sheltie Rescue tied to a tree and abandoned with
breast tumors and numerous other health issues that Sheltie Rescue of Greater Lafayette took care of before they found her
a permanent loving home. Beth brought Jackie to me for a day at the spa to make her feel good and you can see how much she
appreciated it! She did not live a long life, as she was an older girl when she was found, but her last months were
very good and she finally learned what love felt like.

Little Boy, Handsome, and a host of other names were given to this cat that was found as a tiny kitten by
Diana Bragg. Diana was NOT a cat person. In fact, her mother's cats were seriously on her nerves, but when this little fella
came along, he changed her life! She not only became a cat person but she doted on this little guy and gave him a wonderful
life! He passed away, but she has since adopted another kitten and has found that cats do make wonderful pets!

Molly the golden retriever and Muffie the yorkie are rescues belonging to Peggy Keefer. Peggy is another
soft hearted animal lover that can't resist a homeless critter! As you can see Molly and Muffie like each other a lot!

Molly and Tuffy belong to the Kochell's who can't resist cute puggy faces! Molly was their first and
just like potato chips, those that rescue know you can't have just ONE! So Tuffy came into the family and Molly "tolerates"
him! Both dogs are wonderful sweet dogs with hearts of gold, like their owners!
Suzy is a Rat Terrier/ Chihuahua mix that
was in need of a home. I found her a wonderful home at least for a short time, until her new owner passed away. When I placed
her with this lady, I commented that my mom would love to have her if it didn't work out. Mary took that to heart and when
she knew her time was near she asked her niece to bring Suzy back to me and give her to my mom. Suzy now resides in Memphis,
Tennessee and has become a southern belle!
Did I mention Suzy is Irish?

Liam, Katy & Brittany Blackburn

Kizzy, (formerly Taffy and now Sophie) Sandy, and Dixie Blackburn

Fuzz Blackburn

Rosie Lucas
Found matted and starving by Sandy and rehomed to Bob and Linda Lucas and is now living the
good life!

Katy Blackburn
Found on www.petfinder.com in Plano, Texas as a 7 year old standard poodle that was in the middle of a nasty divorce and left in the backyard
to starve. Her story is in the book "Petfinder.com Presents, Second Chances" by Joan Banks. Available in the "Boutique" area
of this website. Katy was rehomed to Sandy Blackburn and went on to live a better life and changed the life of Sandy forever.

No photo album would be complete without my Jasmine! Jasmine is a 2 yr. old Standard
Poodle, also a rescue... she was found under someones house having puppies. I had been looking for a white standard poodle
for years when she came up on www.petfinder.com and a friend notified me. She's the youngest dog I've had in a long time! She is full of fun and I love
her dearly! She has become my competition dog for creative grooming and she really seems to enjoy it!

Dixie Blackburn
another www.petfinder.com rescue from "Home for Friendless Animals" in Waynetown, IN if you have to be in rescue THIS is the place to
be! Home for Friendless Animals has about 200 adoptable cats that roam around freely in a building designed for them with
lots of cat furniture! They know each cat so well they can tell you all their quirks and preferences! Awesome rescue!
Bogey is a 13 yr. old Bichon Frise I recently took in for a client who couldn't keep
him any longer due to her own health. She had given him to another couple for about a year, but they too were elderly and
ended up with health problems so she called me to place him for her. I have a soft spot for old dogs and now he has his own
doggie door, down nice a low just for his short little legs. Guess he's a keeper too!

Brittany came from a reputable collie breeder when I was trying to find a good "kid" dog. She
was given to me by Estella Thomas of Spice Rack Collies because Estella had more dogs than she could handle at age 86 yet
she was going to show her dogs in Chicago that same weekend! Brittany was the ultimate kid dog. She took her babysitting job
seriously! Nobody cried with Brittany around and she would take all they could dish out and with a smile. She was "Lassie"!

This little guy wasn't here to be groomed, but we did save his life by crawling under
a car and getting him just as a cat happened to notice he was there. Sorry kitty, no bunny lunch for you! I had to take
his picture before we relocated him to a safer place to grow up. Relax, I called animal wildlife rehabilitators who told me
exactly what to do, and yes he they said he was old enough to be weaned. Mighty hard to convince kids to relocate him when
they wanted to keep him for a pet...another pet???? sheesh!!
Did I mention Suzy was Irish?

Guido and Luigi are my guinea pigs. Guido was from a pet store and Luigi is from a
guinea pig rescue. I didn't realize there was a guinea pig rescue in Lafayette until I met Dr. Julia Becker D.V.M. of Tippecanoe
Animal Hospital. When I met Luigi, let's just say "it was an offer I couldn't refuse."

Dreamer is what I call a "recycled rescue". He originally came from Sheltie Rescue to another
family in Attica, and lived with them for 5 years. They divorced and life changed and they called me up one day to see
if I wanted him. Of course I said yes, is that not the worlds most beautiful face? Dreamer is now living the good life with
the Blackburn family and is especially fond of my husband Tim, who sneaks him food off his plate occasionally. Could you resist
those eyes?

Princess Hanthorne
Schipperke found orphaned and bottle raised

Zoey's mom is heavily involved in rescuing dogs too. In fact at last count, Zoey had
26 brothers and sisters at home that are dogs and another 25 that are cats! Zowie Zoey!

| Think I see a little Chow with that tongue! |

Some of Zoey's pack!

More of Zoey's pack!

Ramses McDonald
Afghan Hound rescue. Sweet boy that finally got a loving family of his own with Dave and Karen McDonald

Cupid McDonald
Afghan Hound rescue now loving life with Dave and Karen McDonald.

Max and Maggie were adopted through Sheltie Rescue and are now living a wonderful life with Jeff and
Elaine Douglas

Rudy Craft is a mini poodle that was a pound rescue now living the good life with Bill and Sue Craft. Rudy
has his own set of wheels he likes to ride in. Daddy bought him a convertible!

Chloe wasn't exactly from a rescue, but she was advertised in the paper and when Jason and Nadia Heffner
saw her living conditions, they took her just to get her out of there! I know quite a few dogs rescued that way. If only people
would spay and neuter their pets instead of trying to make money on them and bringing in more lives without good homes to
go to. Chloe is doing her part to not litter!

Mollie and Chloe look like australian shepard/ terrier mixes that are incredibly shy and afraid of new people.
These girls were found huddled together in a corner in their new backyard. Their new family Shanda and Doug Allison have worked
hard to help the girls come out of their shell as well as their groomer, "me". Mollie and Chloe are really coming around now
and are learning that not all people are bad and will abandon them. We love them!

Daisy Hollis er uh, DAZEY Hollis, Mildred spells it with a "Z" due to Dazey's spunky personality. Mildred
had lost her dog of 11 years and had been dogless for quite a while before her niece found Dazey who was unwanted by her former
owner and left outside in a kennel, and had a case of heartworm. Mildred instantly fell in love with her and Dazey made it
through her heartworm treatment and now keeps Mildred on her toes playing with toys, eating good food and keeping her company.
If anyone could put a smile on Mildred's face, it's Dazey!

Annie is a Mastiff and is a big girl at 200 lbs! Annie came to me one day for grooming but her owner mentioned
she wished she could find her a home. Well I went to work on the computer and before long I had a long list of people
all over the U.S. and Canada that were willing to take Annie. Luckily for me, Annie found a home nearby with Guy and Wenda
Like. Annie is the sweetest dog on the planet but being a mastiff, she will growl when a stranger comes into her house. I
only kept her for ONE night and the next day my cleaning lady went into my shop for a trash bag and there lay Annie on the
floor, giving a low growl! My cleaning lady backed out of the room slowly and shut the door! Would she actually hurt anyone?
Who knows? But I'm glad I'm on her good side!
